Most of you know that you can close the active window with
the key strokes ALT + F4. But, don't forget the desktop is
also a window.
Use this quick desktop shutdown:
- Click anywhere on the desktop to make sure no icons
are selected.
- Press ALT + F4.
- Release both.
- When the shutdown dialog box pops up, press enter.
The option used to close down last time will be selected.
Simply confirm you are not rebooting again.
