You can use Windows to install new programs on
your Palm.
Go to a website such as
Palm Gear
and download a Palm application. Many Palm OS
files end in the file extensions .prc (Pilot
resource file) and .pdb (Pilot database file).
You may need to use Winzip to unzip the program.
Remember where you save the file on your PC
after downloading it.
To install a new download on your Palm,
follow these directions:
- Open your Palm desktop application from
your PC.
- Choose Install.
- Browse to where you downloaded the program
file.
- Select the file and choose open.
- Repeat steps one to four for any more
files you want to install. You can install
many programs at once.
- Press Done and then OK.
The next time you sync, your programs will be
installed on your Palm device. Depending on the
model of Palm handheld you own (PalmPilot
Professional, Palm III, Palm V, Palm VII, or
m100), the process for doing this varies
slightly. Follow the instructions appropriate to
your handheld machine.
