Windows Tip: Easy-Access Display Settings

Add a Display Settings icon to your task bar.

If you change your color palette and screen resolution on a regular basis, you should keep your Display Settings handy. Add an icon to your task bar for quick access to this area.

  1. Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.
  2. Choose Properties and click the Settings tab.
  3. Check "Show settings icon on task bar."
  4. Click Apply and OK. You'll find an icon that looks like a computer monitor on your task bar.

Follow these steps if you can't find "Show settings icon on task bar."

  1. Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.
  2. Choose Properties and click the Settings tab.
  3. Click Advanced Properties and the General Tab.
  4. Check "Show settings icon on task bar."
  5. Click Apply and OK.
