Most Windows users access the control
panel daily. But if you find yourself
opening this folder more than you'd
like, try placing desktop shortcuts to
some of the control panel's most
commonly used items.
To do this, follow these directions:
- Start by single-clicking the Start
icon, mouse over Settings, and then
single-click the Control Panel folder.
- When the Control Panel folder
opens up, figure out which icons would
be beneficial to you if they were
placed on the desktop. (Add/Remove,
LiveUpdate, and Display are few that
come to mind.)
- Right-click on whichever icons
you've selected and single-click
"Create Shortcut" from the menu.
- Select "Yes" on the pop-up menu
asking if you'd like to have the
shortcut placed on the desktop.
- Perform these steps for every
control panel shortcut you'd like to
have on your desktop.
